PeriPear is developing a safe, wearable, purpose-built device that provides gentle warmth to the perineum during birth, reducing the risk of tearing, pain, and episiotomy rates. Perineal tear injuries occur in as many as 90% of vaginal births, with nearly half requiring surgical repair. Co-founded by midwife Nina van Schaick and biomedical engineer Eviatar Natan.
