Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Startup

Most people think angel investing is only for millionaires.* It’s a common myth, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
The Reality: You Can Start Small
You can start angel investing with a single investment of €2,500 — sometimes even less. You don’t need to sell your company, win the lottery, or have a trust fund to get started.
But here’s the thing:Angel investing is risky. And making just one investment won’t tell you much about the process or give you a realistic shot at success.
Why Portfolio Building Matters
At AtVenture Platform, we believe the smartest way to start is by building a portfolio of at least 10 companies over 3–5 years.
Why?
To spread your risk — because not every startup will make it.
To learn — about different industries, founders, and business models.
To give yourself a real shot at backing something extraordinary.
Think of it like planting seeds in a garden. Some will grow quickly, some slowly, and some not at all, but over time, you’ll have a much richer harvest.
Learning by Doing — Together
We don’t just teach people how to angel invest. We help them start building a meaningful, diversified portfolio from day one.
So far, our founders Laurie and Tessa have invested in 14 companies with diverse founding teams, across sectors like health, AI, education, fashion, and parenting. Each one has taught them something new about resilience, innovation, and what it takes to build something from the ground up.
