We’re proud to share a new investment from the AtVenture Angels community: MeMi Textiles GmbH, a Germany-based deep-tech company that is fundamentally rethinking textile innovation for hygiene applications.
MeMi Textiles recently closed a €700,000 financing round, backed by a strong mix of business angels and institutional investors. For us at AtVenture, MeMi represents exactly the kind of company and founding team we aim to support: mission-driven, technology-led, and ready to scale real-world impact.
Rethinking hygiene through textile innovation
Founded by Franziska N. Nowak and Manuela Miller-Feigl, MeMi Textiles is developing a patented, washable textile absorber that replaces chemical superabsorbers used in disposable hygiene products. These chemicals are widely used across baby care, incontinence, and medical applications, but come with significant environmental costs.
MeMi’s technology offers a powerful alternative. By shifting from single-use, oil-based materials to durable, reusable textile solutions produced in the EU, the company helps reduce waste and can cut CO₂ emissions by up to 90%. At the same time, the technology enables broader global access to affordable and sustainable hygiene products.
Entering the next growth phase
As co-founder Franziska shared, this funding round marks an important transition for the company. MeMi is now focused on scaling its technology, expanding production capacity, and bringing textile innovation to entirely new hygiene applications.
It’s a decisive step forward, moving from proven technology to market expansion and impact at scale.
